Simple Golf Driving Tips For More Distance

If you already have a fundamentally sound golf swing but would like to get a little more distance from your driver, here are a couple of golf driving tips that might help. Again, if you are still working to grove a good and repeatable golf swing, these tips may not be for you yet. But just remember to come back to this video once you are ready.

Wow! Two simple golf driving tips that involve just very slight adjustments. That is both the beauty and the curse of the golf swing. Very minor adjustments, whether intentional or not, can make dramatic differences in your ball flight.

The first of the golf driving tips given in the video simply had to do with the angle of your right foot during your address and swing. Most instructors, including the one on the video, will tell you to start with your foot perpendicular or ninety degrees to your target line. This is to help reduce the amount of hip turn in the backswing. It provides a good point of resistance to over rotating your right hip. Now if you have the proper hip rotation in your backswing already, angling your foot to the right by ten to thirty degrees will allow your shoulders to rotate more. And more shoulder rotation will result in more power.

The second point made in these golf driving tips is the position of your head during your takeaway and backswing. Some golf instructors still teach keeping your head completely still and even with the golf ball. But now most pros have gone to the philosophy of moving your head back behind the ball and more over the inside of your right knee. Like the instructor in the video, my teacher tells me that I can either pre-set my head position like Jack Nicolas or let it move back as you start your takeaway.
