My Golf Swing Distance Is Just One Of My Goals
There are so many aspects to the golf swing. Distance is one goal that most golfers have. With technology providing better clubs and golf balls, hitting the ball a long way is within most everyones grasp. So if you cannot afford the latest titanium driver with the fast shaft and the top of the line golf balls that can run more than four dollars each, what can you do?
Actually, there is quite a bit that you can do even if you are playing with a twenty dollar driver and a ten cent shag ball. After all, like Lee Trevino once said It is not the arrows its the Indians. Even if the statement is a little bit on the wrong side of being politically correct, you get the idea. How you swing the golf club is much more important to a good golf shot than the golf club itself. I watched a former long drive champion hit a 250 yard drive with a driver that was only 18 inches long.
So take a look at this video clip designed to improve your golf swing. Distance is the focus the instructor is trying to improve.
As I get older, changes seem to just happen naturally with my golf swing. Distance is one of the first things to go. I just cant seem to hit it as far as I used to. But with maturity, other parts of my golf game have steadily improved. I tend to hit the ball much straighter than I did. My short game and putting have also improved. I think these things can be mostly attributed to my mental game. I am less distracted and much calmer on the course now. And I just love playing with a young guy that can bomb his driver eighty yards past me and then just smiling as I take the tee box honors on the next hole.
