Golf Swing Slice Do You Know The Cause And Cure?
No matter what you may read or see or hear on the internet and television, there is no one size fits all golf swing slice cure. That is because there is more than one type of swing that will produce a slice.
You may be one of the many golfers out there that has the dreaded over the top golf swing. This produces a cutting across of the ball with the clubface. Of course this produces a tremendous amound of side spin. That side spin causes the dimples of the golf ball to actually gain traction against the air and pull the ball offline and to the right.
There are many things that can be done during the backswing and transition that will help correct this kind of golf swing slice. Starting the downswing from the ground up is usually required. If you get your weight shifted and your hips rotating, it makes it much easier to drop the club into the slot and produce the inside to outside swing path that is desirable.
Another tendency that will cause a golf swing slice is simply having the clubface open at the point of impact. The can produce a push but will also produce that unwanted sidespin if your swing path is close to correct. Many golfers will try to roll their wrists to compensate for the open clubface. This requires an almost unattainable amount of timing and will result in a loss of power and accuracy.
One of the easiest ways to correct an open clubface and therefore get rid of that golf swing slice it by making adjustments in the backswing. You will want to have a flat left wrist during the backswing. Many times someone who has trouble squaring the clubface at impact will have a bent or cupped wrist at the midway or top of their swing.
Here is a video showing this wrist position problem. If you will do like the video says and take your practice swing in pieces while not going full speed, you may just be able to say goodbye to your golf swing slice once and for all.
